I have a 48 Chevy Coupe project. It Had no glass in it. I have painted the body shell and installed new front window rubbers. The window rubber sections were vulcanized with a common rubber center strip. The center strip lines up well with the metal divider in the body shell. There are 2 ¼ inch holes in the divider strip which I believe is where the center interior strip with my mirror mounts. Then there are 3 about 1/8 holes also on the metal divider whose purpose I cannot determine. Cannot find a breakdown in parts book or assembly manual. I’ve ordered and received the reproduction reveal moldings from a supplier and am trying to determine how it attaches to the body divider strip. I looked at an old parts car of a friends and see what looks like the remains of clips which may have been attached to the 1/8 in holes I mentioned earlier. I can’ seem to find any supplier that lists them for 46-48. I can find them for ’49. Can anyone tell me how or where the stainless divider gets its grip to hold on this set up? Thanks in advance

Good Morning, Here is a link to past posts on the stainless center windshield reveal molding which was also common to the 41. 41 Vertical-Windshield-DividerChevs of the 40's Stainless EXTERIOR windshield dividerThe stainless is carefully pried over the rubber divider, friction holds it in place. All the holes in the welded on divider piece are for attaching the INTERIOR trim piece which also serves as a mounting place for your backup mirror. If you cannot find parts let me know I may have them. Old posts will have more info for you including articles I have written on the installation of ALL glass. Follow directions on the SEARCH process to find articles. For example to find windshield articles just type +windshield and for DISPLAY NAME Type Mike Buller. Good luck, Mike
