My '64 Malibu SS 327 has exhaust headers. I want to replace them with original manifolds. I can buy reproduction original style manifolds. But when I search for manifold bolts it offers "rams horn" manifold bolts. First question: Were rams horn manifolds original equipment on 1964 327s? I have a 1976 350 with rams horn manifolds. Second question: Will the rams horn manifolds on my 350 fit on my 1964 327?

rams horn manifolds first appeared in 1956. generally speaking, there were 2" outlet and 2 1/2" outlet manifolds of the rams horn variety. most dumped straight down to mother earth, and some went down and back at about a 45 degree angle. the repo manifolds, at least those sold by the corvette dealers, are very easy to differentiate from originals. determine if u need the 2" or the 2 1/2 " manifolds and get back with us. mike

Mike, thanks for the response. Things have changed since my original post. We tore the 327 apart and found everything inside broken. Valve spring broke, cam worn out, crank shaft scarred, block cracked, one head cracked. Long story short, we're putting the 350 in the Chevelle. Now I have to determine if the exhaust will clear since the rams horn dump out in the center. I'll post an update on that when I find out.
