Just Recieved my new issue of Hemmings Classic Car. They have a feature article of a 1941 Specail Deluxe business coupe. This car belonged to VCCA member Bob Stremmel for many years. He was a 1941 lover and also had a club coupe. Bob was also the VCCA 1941 technical advisor for many years. I am fairly familure with this car having judged it a couple of times. It recieved Best of Show more than once. At that time the only problem was the seat was reupholstered and a Hampton Coach material used which was a flat cloth and the remaining original interior was of the original short nap mohair. I see by the engine picture in Hemmings a non-correct carburetor has been installed.
After Bob passed away the car was puchased by another freind and VCCA member Bill Kohley. He had it for a short time and then sold it because he liked to drive his cars and thought the car was too good to be a driver. (Bill has also passed away).....as many of my VCCA friends have. .
The car originally came from a small atown Chevrolet dealer and was driven by the dealers wife for many years. Bob Sremmel bought the car from the dealer many years ago.
Bob added many of the correct acessories, all of whch are correct. Note the lne-up of correct color 1941 heater and accessory switches.

Nice to hear someone taking such care with a vehicle. Is this article available online as well?

I'd like to buy a copy but the Governor closed all the bookstores.

If you have a large chain grocery store in your area, check their magazine section. Our Giant Eagle has a pretty good selection. I've never specifically looked for Hemmings Classic Car as I subscribe to it. Good mag.

It is a pretty rare car. I remember the last time when I saw such a model, was at https://www.greatbritishcarjourney.com/ 4 years ago. Guys have a collection of more than 300 cars. If you are a fan and you are really passionate about cars, take your chances and visit it. The entrance won't cost you that much, but believe me, the emotions and feelings you'll get there, will remain in your mind for the rest of your life. There are some cars there that can be even driven on their private road, of course not for free, but still, that is a nice opportunity.
