As long as the gear set in the transmission has the correct ratio for the calibration of the speedometer, the answer is yes.May have to make some adjustments to the cable length or use a new cable.

Chipper is correct that the key is the proper relation between the cable rpm's and the ground speed. The speedometer reading is based on cable speed.

I do not know if there was a standard for speedometers in the 30's. At one time SAE published a standard that stated 1000 cable rpm's would equal a reading of 60 mph.

No sure if that standard still exists, especially in today's world with most cars using electronic speedometers based on readings from wheel speed sensors.

thanks folks I have all the driven Gears and both speedo bungs that go in a 400 turbo and am ordering in a 14 toothed drive gear and also have a 15, they also make a 17 but with my 4.86 rear gear from my research I think the 14 drive gear & 45 driven gear should get me close with a 30" tall rear tire so if I can get close I'll letr buck. THANKS Again !
