I had forgotten I had these National ball housing transmission ball seat repair parts. National came up with the Oakie so maybe these were also a good fix? Has anyone ever used one of these and do they make a good repair? Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Here is a link to an old post on this topic. Doing a SEARCH of old posts should lead you to more info.

Good luck, Mike

P.S. Another discussion on this topic specific for 1941 cars is also going on.
1929-54 Torgue Tube Gasket

P.S. #2 Be extra careful when removing the universal joint and make sure you have a large jack stand under the end you are disconnecting. The universal joint when removed will cause the drive shaft to fall down towards the floor. If it were to land on your head, etc. the weight could cause serious injury.

Thanks Mike but I don't see the connection with my question.

They must have been used when you were down to one gasket adjustment and the ball was still loose so rather than replace the transmission housing/or ball you put this in. Must not of been a big seller.

Yes, that was used when the ball and or seat became too worn.
