On a 1940 1/2 Ton PU, are the parking brake cables and misc parts painted? If not, how is moisture kept from getting into the coiled cover and rusting the cable? Thanks, Mike

The cables are supposed to be greased. There is a tool for this operation. Mike

There is no tool for lubricating your hand brake cable. The only thing you can do is remove the cable and TRY to get grease into the conduit.

There was an attachment made for lubriating brake cables on cars with mechanical brakes but not for later hand brakes.

So here is the tool. Gene, I don't see how it would know if it was installed on a service brake cable or a parking brake cable. My captions did not show up. The tool comes with several different seal sets to allow for various combinations of cable and housing sizes Mike
