Hi All,

What is and where can I get good insulation material for an engine compartment? Material used on firewalls. I need a material that can withstand the heat from an engine and prevent most of the heat from coming into the cab of a van.

Cheers,

Most engine compartment insulation is made of glass fibers woven or bonded together with a resin. You might be able to find a hood liner to cut and apply to the firewall and tunnel.

Usually a van has insulation under the carpet and also, the dash mat inside provides insulation from heat as well as sound. Are these parts missing in your van?
