JimG Shade Tree Mechanic Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 152 Milford, Michigan	Most engine compartment insulation is made of glass fibers woven or bonded together with a resin. You might be able to find a hood liner to cut and apply to the firewall and tunnel. Usually a van has insulation under the carpet and also, the dash mat inside provides insulation from heat as well as sound. Are these parts missing in your van? JimG
