I have a friend who recently inherited a 35 Chevy truck from his father. He asked me tonight for help with getting it running. His father and a local mechanic had it running a few years ago and he is trying to get it going again. He said he didn't understand much about it and it had positive ground. I told him that I had never seen an old Chevrolet with positive ground but I am not sure about a truck as I think I have heard that some GMC trucks had positive ground. I really think his truck should be negative ground am I correct?

You are correct. A 1935 Chevy truck is negative ground.
