Per help from the Posters below, I believe we have narrowed down the car to be a 1925 Chevy Sedan. I have a couple of questions.
1) would anyone know a new Part # for a fan belt. This fan belt is just from the crank pulley to the fan, no generator. Anyone know the Part Number I could order that with?
2) I am guessing the polarity would be Positive Ground? I am used to working on old Farm Tractors, which are always P Ground from that era, but not sure on Cars

I have ordered the OP Manual and a Service Manual, both reprints, that should be here next week, but just trying to get a jump on things. Thanks a lot - Bob

Hi, I don't have the info on the belt, but it can be measured easily. Your battery is NEGATIVE (-) ground.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it might be a shot in the dark on the belt, but you never know. Thanks for the polarity. I would have guessed wrong, not sure if it would have mattered. I will have manuals next week that will help a lot. Until then, thanks again for the help.

Just a note to anyone interested that fresh gas and she ran. No water in radiator so just ran for a few seconds a couple of different times, but I'll get the radiator belt and fill it up and see what I have. Thanks for the help so far - Bob

It amazes me that these old engines sit for years but when they get a spark and a bit of fuel they run.

An easy way to determine the fan belt size is to loop a short length of rope around the pulleys and mark the length and measure the width of the pulley groove, take the rope to your local parts store and compare his stock to the rope circle allowing the belt to be an inch or 2 longer as it wont sit at the bottom of the groove like the rope did.

Just a quick note that I did find the serial number on the car. It was on the drivers side just behind the seat, along the edge of the body rail. Just under some old carpet. The serial number is 3K56965. Just wondering if that does show as a 1925? Thanks again for all the help - Bob

Many thanks for that information. It looks like (long story) I will need the son to get a replacement title. Just wanted to make sure I had the correct year on the title.

2 older Gentlemen owned the car and are both long gone. One was never married, the other had one son late in life. The son is trying to find the title, as it was definately tagged in '96, but can't come up with it. He also has a '29 Ford Model A I am getting, and he has the title for it. He knows the lady in the tag office, and they think they will have no problem getting the title replaced. Hopefully that is the case. Thanks again to all for the great information - Bob
