I would like to know what these numbers/letters mean. Car is a '57, VIN = VC57N171424. Is it a 'number matching' car?

1. On the top at the rear of motor right before the tranny = '3 GM' (the 3 is above and to the left of the GM;) '3731548'.

2. On the bolt mains clamp (?) holding the crank = '3743951', under that is 'GM 58'.

3. On the front of motor = 'G-17', under that is '548'.

4. On the intake = 'F67', below that is '3732680', below that is 'GM 3'.

5. Where the drive shaft is attached (u-joint) at the rear = '823' above the center and 'GM' below the center.

6. On the rear housing = '011', below that is '8726899' followed by a large 'GM 11' (only the GM is large).

7. On the very front on the top of motor is 'F67'. Right next to one of the bolt holes that bolts the engine to the stand.

8. At the top of block next to cyn. is 'F606F' (first 6 could be a lower case b). This is the number you lose with shaving a block I think.

Sorry about the long post but didn't want to make 8 separate topics.

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me about the numbers/letters...
