rebuilding my 23 touring oil pan off brgs. and dip troughs set new oil pump gears new copper lines pump and lines connected with pan off driving pump with rechargeable drill 4 pounds lots of flow to troughs but presser seams to go away needle just shakes after 30 secs. then i see bubbles at trough fill tubes tried packing changes gasket thickness on pump, lines for leaks i don't see what to do next maybe pay 400.00 for new pump ?????

Apparently the pump is sucking air from somewhere. Could be at a joint in piping, at pickup tube end or seals in the pump. How deep does pickup tube go into the oil pool? What viscosity is the oil? Too thick reduces flow and increases cavitation and air entrainment.

Is it possible the clearance in the pump housing is to great new gears in old housing looks pretty good is there a thousands measure around teeth ??? pickup is under oil 2 inchs 5 w 30 oil i can't find a leak in plumbing ??? all new and tight sealer yes i agree air somewhere if air out at tubes seams to be a nice film of oil at shaft seal but nut and shaft show signs of wear so I'm going to machine and polish both next step
