does the seal on a s.d. go over the pinch weld or is it only held in by the garnish molding??

You might want to look at figure 20 on page 25 of the 1941 Shop Manual.

I think that should be the same as my 47 Fleetline, the trim goes in the small rubber while also getting it over the pinch weld. The rubber that goes over the glass then is held in by the garnish molding. I had the guy that cut all the side glass and windshield install the front and rear glass, I was glad I paid them because it was a pain. He decided he should have quoted more than the $100.00 each for front and rear.

thnx rusty and d , ive looked at pg 25 not real clear but if its only held in by the garnish molding good sealer must be a must ! $100.oo for frnt and rear with a no leak guarantee would be a hela deal !! I guess a master has a different molding that goes over the pinch weld . that's what is confussing . seams like that would seal better but be harder to install !hoping for someone with hands on experience !!

not having much luck with the pinch weld seal .actually none at all!! the trim wont go on dry ,or with soapy water . just makes a bigger mess . help
