I am wondering if a Front Model T wheel with tapered bearings will work on my 1916 Chevy Front. I believe my ball bearings are too loose. I was able to pick up 2 model T wheels with bearings included and I can do some modification. I do realize about altering the crown nut from other posts.

I have the problem of the car shaking when it hits a bump.

I am also considering adding an add-on steering stabilizer to the front suspension.

Hi Teachman,

I chased a steering wobble shimmy for years on my 1916 Chevy 490 Roadster which has the Duplex front springs. I tried steering caster angle wedges toe in tire pressures even to the point that it shook so bad it cracked the chassis which required a major pull apart to repair and re rivet a full chassis plate on each chassis rail. Finally ended up using a steering damper from Snyders that suits the Model T and finally fixed the problem to now make the car drivable without fear of major shimmy in the front end.

I think that you will find that the Model T wheels will fit and very few if any will know the difference.
Cheers
