I have a 1950 Fleetline Special which has stamped steel sill plates. Any idea as to what color they might have been painted from the factory? Also, does anyone have a spare for the driver's side rear door opening? That one is pretty rough.

I can't be sure of the color but I seem to recall that the Deluxe models had a design of the Fisher coach embossed in the plate but the Special models were plain. Is my memory even worse than I thought?

The Deluxe models came with aluminum sill plates while apparently the Special series came with plain steel.

My '49 Special business coupe had steel sill plates that were painted. I'm pretty sure that originally they were a beige color. There are no emblems or embossing on them. I eventually replaced them with repros.

The cheaper models has stamped steel sill plates.....in 1949 they would have been brown to match the interior. In 1950 they were a darker gray and kind od a wrinkel finish.

Thanks gene! I figured I could count on you for some good knowledge. Any Idea approximately what shade of gray?

I would describe
it as a medium gray.
