Need a pair of trunk hinges (not rumble seat) for 32. Found a pair on ebay but they mention for "phaeton 5 passenger". Would these hinges be different than for a 5 window coupe?

The '32 Phaeton does not even have a built-in trunk like the coupe. I would be very skeptical about the eBay listing. You might check with either Bruce Bugay (bwbugay@aol.com) or Gary Wallace (chev4cyl@charter.net) for the trunk hinges.

All the Best, Chip

The '32 Five Passenger Coupe and Landau Phaeton had a small trunk lid. It was much smaller than the 5 Window Coupe. I doubt hinges for that lid would fit your Coupe.

It's jdaniel. Mentions several years and models he thinks it might fit. I'll check with Bruce and Gary. Thanks

Great advice from Chipper!

Every time I look I become more skeptical of eBay listings. I will not buy anything from eBay that I cannot return. I often message with the seller to validate/guarantee the application information. That way when I get a wrong part and I give a low rating it is valid.

Rusty and Chipper are both correct.

I once contacted an eBayer and wrote him that his part did not fit the car covered in his listing.

I got a extremely nasty reply that told me he intended to cover many years in his ads in order to attract attention to his listings. He told me to mind my own business.

Beware of the notice that says (fits whatever). It may not. And, the sorry part is the seller often knows it.

Beware of those out to make a buck by being untruthful.

Best,

jdaniel hasn't got much of a clue as to what he has. I tried to inform him once and he blocked me. Enough said.

Ya. Those are the ones in question. I wasn't sure if they were the correct ones. Anyone have a coupe with a trunk to confirm?
