Does anyone know how many of the 1916 490 Chevrolets are still around?

I wonder if the national VCCA office can make a roster of 1916 Chevys and other years up to 1922 as many parts are the same.

If you're thinking of a National Register, like the H-4 Chapter runs, The "National VCCA Office" does not exist, so it will be doing no such thing. The VCCA is made up of volunteer members just like yourself. As with all things done in this club, it will start with volunteers with similar interests like yourself to pull up the bootstraps and get cracking on it. I would recommend getting in touch with the H-4 Chapter members, and talk to them about the steps they took to form their non-geographical region. Their contact info may be found in the front of the G&D. A 490 Chapter would be another great addition to our club.

Those accustomed to the finest...find it in Chevrolet.

Teachman,
The "national VCCA office" is not what one might think of as an office. Peter basically handles memberships, is webmaster for the "national" website as well as "Chat". He does a few projects at the direction of the VCCA Board of Directors and officers.

Any VCCA member in good standing can search the membership database (has limited search capabilities) and put together a list from what they find. If one puts "490" in the search box it will find those members that have listed a "490" as one of their vehicles. It will also find 490 in an address, phone number, VCCA membership number, etc. It can be used to put together a list like you desire. It will not find all 490s owned by VCCA members as some don't list all their Chevys. It also may not be accurate particularly if searching for a given year as many 490 owners don't know the correct year for their ~100 year old Chevy. It will be better than what exists now.

How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
