Happy Birthday to us. Now celebrating 18 years in production. (PS. I couldn't let this day go by without remembering one of the best communication tools to have been employed in the club. If I had my way, all Area Directors would be REQUIRED to post a status message every month on here. If not, then they get impeached.)

VCCA members have access to a list of over 50 Technical Advisors who can help you with your car. It's worth the price of membership! While you can get a lot of information for free in this forum, sometimes the info that you REALLY need is only available from the right person. This is what "The World's Best Chevrolet Club" is all about!

Bill, I agree wholeheartedly that Chat is by far the best communication tool in the VCCA. Yes, the G&D is great and valuable but where can one get expert advise on Chevrolet projects in minutes if not a few hours? And it is not just for VCCA members even though they are the major contributors both monetarily and technically. Member #2 and still helping. I plan to be around for the next 18 or more.

Thanks to Chat, It couldn't have had such a successful run without great people herding it along the way. Especially you BB. I will not be around for the next eighteen years. I just hope I'm around for the next 18 days. Thank you, Charlie

18 days.... ha ha.... Good one Charlie.
I was wondering if anyone else has added Technical information in the past two years to the "Member Library"? A lot of folks sent me stuff that I added over the past 16 years. (and I need to send KUDOs to Erling in Norway for his submissions).
I was hoping that the new system would provide an improved way for us to Search that stuff.

Bill, by 'Member Library', do you mean the technical articles in the Member Area of the main website?
Yes, I've contributed a few items and Peter has posted them.
What do you mean by the new system to search for that stuff? The forum search function only searches the forums, not any of the pages off of vcca.org.
BTW, belated Happy Bday for Chatter! I cannot live a day without checking it!
Cheers, Dean

Yes Dean, I was thinking about the Member Area documents. I"m very glad to hear that you're still posting there.
I guess my concern is that we are getting so much stuff that it's becoming harder to find the exact item that you want. I had hoped that we might have been able to "codify" all of this and make it searchable via a new function.
I know that I still have a bunch of personal stuff that I could submit, but I'd sure like to see some effort made that would make it easier to search each individual document. This is not too different than trying to find an article in an old G&D issue.
It is a huge task to get all of this data "indexed". Some of my favorite Genealogy sites are slowing making progress on this kind of effort.

Since I am one of the oldest members (age and membership) I will agree with Charlie that I probably won't be around for the next 18 years but I sure have enjoyed the first 18 years. You did a great job Bill Barker and it is still one of the best features of VCCA. The Chat was a big help when I restored my 1941 Coupe in 1999. I don't post very much but I check the chat frequently. I only post when something strikes my fancy like some of Charlie's wild tales or rants but that is what makes the Chat so great. We have so many "experts" in VCCA and they are so willing to help fellow members. JIM
