Is a storage tray like the attached photo a standard item in a 36 coupe?

Interesting item. Looks like it could have been homemade. Any literature to show it is a Chev sales item? Thanks for the pic.

I agree with Dick. This sure looks like a homemade accessory. My understanding is that for the coupes of that time period the "tool tray" was the trough at the rear of the trunk

Ken sent me some pictures of the actual tray and it's quite well put together. It uses captured nuts, hardwood, fastening hardware and utilizes existing bolts/holes. Someone put some time tinto it. Bootlegger lol?

If the question is whether this storage area is factory, yes it is. I have one just like it and have seen several others.

That is a correct object. I inspected one in a friends 1936 Coupe.

How was this originally accessed in the car as it appears it would be hidden behind the hardboard liner in the quarter panel. Was there a small removable section of hardboard with screws?

There was a "Flap" that folded down for access.

I have the same tool tray in my 36 Standard coupe. So.. now that we've established that does anyone have a picture of the correct tool kit ?
