I am restoring a 1950 Convertible and making a paint change. Both the complete front seat and the back seat are upholstered with the stock blue colors and in very good condition. It would be unreasonable to recover the seats with the red stock colors as they are in too good of shape. My proposal is to trade my seats for a set of seats that need to be recovered. Or, I will buy a set of seats that are mechanically in good shape, but the upholstery is in poor shape. I am not sure what years will swap for the 1950 convertible, all I need is a match. Talk to me.

Darn... I would have been willing to play, but I'll need green, not blue!

Best of luck...

Mike, I'm pretty sure convertibles and hardtops had a different front seat. It's a bit narrower at the top, or folds up at a different angle than a sedan. My convertible makes use of a sedan seat. When it's sitting normal, it's not noticeable, but when its folded forward it is. It keeps the door from closing when folded the least bit forward.

The doors on my 50 convertible will not close when the seat is folded the least bit forward either. The interference is primarily with the arm rest but then with the door handle when the seat is folded further forward. I am the second owner and am confident the front seat is original. I removed the original leather and fabric when it was reupholstered 35 years ago. Mike
