Where, EXACTLY, on the floor, was the serial number tag on '41 Chevrolets? Does anyone have a picture of one still intact?

The Fisher Body number and information is on the right side of the firewall above the battery.

The car serial number is attached to the front floor, under the mat, next to the door opening just forward of the seat.

If you have a Holden body, it's on the right side of the cowl under the bonnet.
If you have a truck or commercial vehicle made by Martin - Parry (AKA: Chevrolet body co of Indianapolis), the Chevrolet chassis number on the right side of the cowl, under the hood. The body number on single unit vehicles (Panel, Canopy, Suburban, Ambulance) is on the floor where the passenger steps to enter the vehicle. I don't know where it is on double units (Flat bed and light commercial open express.) and chassis. The last 3 numbers are found in the parts book. Example: 1939 & 40 3/4 ton panel = * * * 935.
I have not been able to find any ID tags on my 37 Chevy with Flxible Clipper body. Good luck, Lou
