Setting up a 235 to have a discrete PCV system and kind of look like a 216 so I will be needed a valve cover with a oil fill cap so it can breather, now what I need to know is do all those valve covers have those 3 vents in the top or were there some made without. I want it to breath somewhat filtered air and might have to seal up those valve covers if they all had the vents.

ok have 2 valve covers 216 and a 235 both have 2 small slots and holes for the acorn nuts the 56 cover has been dipped and is down to bare metal and a zinc like coating was put on to keep it from rusting it would be my choice for mig welding the slots shut to make it somewhat air tight for the PCV setup you are trying to make if it is what you are looking for let me know and we can go from there seeing that i had it dipped i think a fair price of 40 bucks plus shipping is about right andy (senior member)

My 1951 216 had a valve cover with the slots. It originally had an oil cap that didn't have an vent. I replaced it with a vented cap and closed the slots when I installed a PCV system. My 38 216 has the slots but no oil filler hole on the cover.

My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .

Looked in the local old junkyard today and nothing worth bringing home,I found out I can get a new valve cover and might go that route since I can get one for 46 dollars with free shipping.

I was not my intention to insult you but shipping costs have made it where I need to think before I buy,I have seen people on ebay wanting over 20 dollars to ship them and I would have too many dollars in just a valve cover so no way. Since I have to do welding on it I could screw it up so best to ruin a made in China part and I still have a couple junkyards to visit before I even think of buying anything online.
