OP cprop Grease Monkey Joined: May 2005 Posts: 1 Colorado	I would like to install a 283 engine in my 49 sedan. Any information would be greately appreciated.

Mike McCagh ChatMaster - 2,000 Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 2,576 Likes: 2 cumberland, md	hurst at one time sold motor/frame mounts to install a sbc in the 49 to 54 chassis. you'll have to butcher the two vertical strips that run one each side of the 216 in order to clear the sbc'c heads. if you're gonna install the sbc, ya might as well go with a muncie or t-10 4 speed and an open drive rear end. good luck, mike
