Hey gents.
Im in the process of reassembling my 194 in my 1931 AE , just waiting for the gasket kit to show up.
In the mean while I was looking at this head and it looks like it could use some love. a little rust a lot of carbon build up. My question is. Is this something I can tackle my self with a wire wheel and some scotch bright pads. Or should I spend the money and take it to a machine shop and have them go through it. Im not too confident on the procedure of assembling the rocker arms and valves back in and setting the correct lash etc. and I don't have a manual.
If any of you know where I can get a manual for this id buy it. I tried to upload a picture of the head , but couldn't figure that part out.

By all means, buy a Repair Manual. Available from The Filling Station in reprint. Also, take the head to a reliable machine shop for a rebuild. Good luck!

I recommend taking the head to a machinist. I had my 29 head magnafluxed, and that caught several cracks. The test is not expensive given the information you will get.
P.S. Suggestion, have the values run at the same time.
