Has anyone out there ever had a starring wheel recast? I am looking to put a Bango steering wheel on my 1933 Master. I have been looking at used wheels and recast ones, the thing is. Does it cost a lot to have a wheel restored? I ask because I am seeing these wheels from $700 upwards to 2K for a really nice one. I understand the pros & cons of the choice of color. The only people I been looking @ are Koch's Steering Wheel Restorations, I seen there work in the past and there quilty is or was unsurpassed. I hope they still turn out good work. As far as cost does anyone know any other people who do good work for less money or do they all get their prices out of the same book? I can buy a used wheel for around $250-$400 that needs work. Would I come out cheaper to just buy one that has already been done and all I have to do is nut it on the car. If you had to do it one more time which way would you go?
i looking to put a baNGO

If you go forward with your plan, Check the hub of the wheel you buy. 1938 and later had splined hubs, yours will be tapered and keyed, I think.

Yea I saw some wheels for 1937, 35 and 34. As long as its 18" and has a tapered shaft it should work. I saw a beautiful wheel for 2K it is tapered with a key and stated to be for 1937 Chevy, but $2000 for a starring wheel and there no gold on it, "OUCH". Does anyone know how early of a GM car will be the same as a 1933 Master? If anyone has a Bango wheel for sale I am a player.

I think the 31 to 36 regular steering wheels are still being recast through the Filling Station. You would have to ask them if they can do a banjo wheel. Bruce D. and Steve K. developed that process maybe about 10 years ago.
