I am rebuilding my 1932 engine and have discovered the oil pan has pin holes due to rust. Do I braze the holes or is there a coating I could put on the inside to seal them? Any ideas, or does someone have an oil pan they might part with? Quite a few holes.

Quite often when you start brazing (welding) rust holes you end rebuilding the whole panel (sump). Save your effort for locating 1 in reasnoable condition without rust holes even if it is a little bent, easier to straighten than fix rust. Tony

you do not want to braze . i had a pan with a couple of small holes and like tony said before i had them sealed up i had most of the pan covered . so the next three or so i took the wire feed machine mig and filled the holes ground off the excess filled with varsol to check for leaks makes a fast permanent fix . you would think that a small amount of heat and a drop of brass would not crack the pan in most cases it will you will get a spider webb . if you dont have a mig bring it to some one that has . hope this helps oldpush

Yep, push is right again, I tried this back before I knew a Mig was a welder... I thought about a USSR Mig-17. Anyway to shorten the story after a good brazein' I had a mess, I ended up using JB weld, it worked!

Is a 1929 oil pan interchangeable with a 1932?
