I would like to remove the seat back from my '51 two door Styline Deluxe. Can it be removed without removing the entire seat? The service manual says not but maybe someone has found a way to do it. Thanks, as always, for your help.

You must remove the seat bottom in order to reach the two bolts that hold the lower part of the back seat in order to remove it. Not really too difficult.

Thanks for the quick reply! I was hoping for a different answer since it will require help to remove the whole seat (heavy and awkward). This what the service manual says. Thanks again.

I'm 77 years old. I took my front seat out to reupholster by myself. And put it back in by myself. Not a hard job.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am going to the shop later today to see if I can understand the directions in the shop manual. Right now it seems a bit confusing. I'll report back later.
Jeff

I reviewed the service manual directions while at the shop and it is very straight forward. I have removed all trim and loosened all 8 mounting bolts and am now just waiting for some help with the lifting.
