Greetings from East Tennessee! I’m new to the antique Chevrolet world and the forum. Last week I stumbled into a 1927 1/2 ton truck that needed to be rescued. The owner had passed away and the family didn’t have a lot of information on the truck. I’m working on getting it going , waiting on parts, points, etc that should be in tomorrow. Having trouble getting spark at points and it looks like wrong points were installed at some point. Back on point, I would like to have a hand crank for the truck if anyone has one they are willing to sell. I also would like to have a repair/ service book if someone has a recommendation on a good one that would be helpful. I will update with post as I make improvements. I will post some photos once I figure out how to make that happen.
Thanks

Reprinted manuals are available from the Filling Station (advertises on this site) as well as hard parts. The manuals were written 90 years ago so some of the terms and descriptions differ from today. Also has hard parts and fairly knowledgeable staff.
The hand cranks come up on Ebay occasionally. Have made some several years ago but don't have rod stock to make more. The do come in handy.
Of course several "regulars" on Chat have experience with 4 cylinder Chevys and will help when we can.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

Thank you for the reply Chipper, I see there are two books. One seems to be for 27 only and the other covers 27-28. Do you know if one is more comprehensive than the other by any chance? I am also trying to figure out the Fisher Body #s mine is Job #7220 and Body#N14339. Block #s seem to show May 16 of 07 but the Chevrolet vin tag is MIA. Thank you again for the reply.

Job #7220 is a Five passenger coach in 1927. I would purchase the 1927-28 Repair Manual. You should also have an Owner's Manual.

I beleive that I have a 1927 hand crank or one that will work on the 1927. I have a 1927 Landau coupe and have started with a hand crank several time to "show off" so I know that it works.
I have a 1927 car Chassis that I will be making into a light "pickup" truck and would like to see photos of your truck. Please email me at dcufr@roadrunner.com to see we can work on getting you the hand crank you want.
