Sold my 31 3 window coupe a couple of months ago. While looking at e-bay last night, found it listed under Volo Auto Museum for sale. Also spotted a beautiful 48 4 door sedan at another dealership with VCCA license plate holder listed for sale. Maybe we as members are selling these cars too cheap?? What say ye all??

Jim.

If you got a price you are happy with then what's the issue? If someone else wants to inventory it for an extended period of time hoping to get more then let them.

Easy for a dealer to make a few quick bucks on a car needing nothing as they have better marketing than an individual, can take trades which attract buyers and even make some bucks off financing and selling warranties...

Certainly am not complaining about the price difference between selling and buying. Just made an observation is all. Sorry if I came on too strong. This is called free enterprise in business.

Yup, you said it better than I could. That's it in a nutshell. Thanks for your response, also for cabboy's response.

Jim.

No not too strong at all. Dealers have been doing this from day one. Buy used from an individual (or take a trade) and sell at a higher value. They are basically speculators.

Some dealers, and private sellers, price their vehicles too high, in hopes of finding a buyer who does not know the value of the vehicle. The dealers have a better chance of making this happen. I don't blame them for trying, but I worry about the buyer. When he figures out what happened to him, the experience might sour him on the hobby and all of us at the same time.
