My odometer numbers are very faded and I’m replacing them. After a lot of searching, I can only find black and white sets. In ”˜37 they were brown and white. I know it’s being picky, but does anyone have a set or know where I could find the brown number sets?
Thanks,
Matt

Contact speedo rebuilders & see what they have & if they'll sell to you.

Matt.
I installed the instrument decal set from Chevs of the 40's (or the Filling Station) on my 1940 instrument cluster and odometer. As you stated, they are black and white. But, I wonder if a local decal company or sign company could reproduce some of these vinyl numbers that are brown and white? (Bring a black and white set to them) I believe the set is around $14.

Also, I'm not sure how similar the 1937 and 1940 odometers are, but, there is an excellent technical article on rebuilding an odometer on the Stovebolt Forum. That's what I used to rebuild mine. If you study this technical article and take your time, it is very doable.

https://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/gauges/speedometer/index.html

If black and white numbers work for you and the size is correct for the 1937, the instrument decals mentioned above were well made and look great on my 40.

Good luck,
Curt

go on ebay look under 1937 chevrolet speedometers I saw some decal sets for the 37s that are complete sets for both styles of these speedometers, also under 41 to 1946 gmc speedometers there are some nos in the box that have the brown odometer wheels, a lot of the gm odometer wheels will fit different applications. if you take yours apart the most important thing and sometimes the hardest is removing the needle without bending or breaking the pin that the needle fits on. hope this helps dlz

If you zoom in on the ”˜37 decal set on EBay, the odometer numbers are black and white, just like the sets the Repop suppliers offer. I did find a speedometer restorer that can do any color and style you want. I bought a black and white set and will see how they look.
