Missing center bar for my grille, so I took a thin piece of stainless and made one. I like to know the exact shape of the center bar, is it round or does it have a triangular shape and what is the correct gauge steel or stainless. Also, how is it attached to the grille.

Thanks,

Einar

The center bar is held to the grill insert by the CHEVROLET EMBLEM.. If you look at it , has the cutout area in the back. There is a half cutout at the top and the bottom where it goes under the trim ring and the crank hole cover. There is also a short piece about 1.5…2” goes under the bottom below crank hole cover.

The shape is like an A frame barn roof. Pitched at the top and then flat on the sides and it folds underneath to just clear the grill insert teeth it sits over.

That gage would work! Yesterday on eBay a complete front grill set was just sold for $83 replated and with the 3 bottom pieces , plus $20 shipping. They come up from time to time!
