Hi, My elderly father in law has found a Fisher body tag in his old workshop. It would have been there for a very long time but we have absolutely no idea where, or what vehicle it has come from. On the off chance that the vehicle still survives, I would like to begin a search to reunite the tag with the correct vehicle. I do not even know if it is a chev tag. It could be anything - Pontiac, Oakland, Buick, to name a few. It appears to be a 1920's tag but not sure.
The numbers are: JOB No 7520 BODY No 10239
If anyone has some info that can narrow down my search I would be most grateful. I'm not sure how to post a photo of the tag.
Cheers.

Our Fisher bodied 28 Chrysler started with a 7, were there any Chryslers in his family in the past? We sold the car earlier in the year but I could probably ask him for the number.

He did have a 29 Oakland which is now mine. I know it's not from this Oakland though because it has a Holden body (Australian). He hasn't had any Chrysler's or other cars that this plate could be from.

It does not appear to be a Chevrolet.

So in the day Fisher built bodies for MANY auto manufacturers. In the early 20s I think they got into a little financial trouble. In a self interested move GM made an investment to insure their survival and bought 1/2 of their corporation. In 1926 along the same road they bought the rest of Fisher. At that time they announced 1928 would be the last year they would build bodies for auto companies other than GM. I have always wondered which other companies they made bodies for. The person who may have that info is JYD. He has an amazing collection of Fisher info and artifacts. It is VERY interesting. I think our 28 Chrysler model 72 2/4 passenger golf club coupe was job # 7880, my 29 Chevrolet coupe is job # 8880.

I am not as versed as others on the body, paint, and trim numbers. Yours look different than ours and may be specific to the manufacturing plant.
