I am trying to locate a certain 1955 Chevrolet station wagon. I have the serial number. How and where should I begin looking? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Coalter Paxton

Privacy laws may get in your way but the DMV is a possible start though posting the numbers here may achieve the desired results if a member has the vehicle but those chances are very remote. Tony

The serial number of the vehicle I am trying to find is B55B208891 This is a 1955 Chevrolet 210 4 door station wagon, green with a cream color top. This is a long shot, but I'll put it out there anyway. Anybody have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!!! Coalter Paxton

I am not aware of any easy way to search for a specific car unless you have access to all the databases of vehicle registration for all the states. That access is typically only available to law enforcement and other regulatory agencies. If the car has been scrapped you might never find any evidence of it.
My suggestion is that you will have better luck if you try to start tracking down the "chain of custody" for the car. Start talking to people who were around when and where you last knew the location or owner of the car.
For example, if this was your grandfather's car and he is now deceased, talk to people who knew him and about the car. One of them might know what happened to it. Then move to the next owner and his friends.
You could join VCCA and get access to the member database. It is possible that a VCCA member has the car.
It is a long shot to find a particular 60+ year old car.

After much scratching around, etc. I have found where the 55 Chevy was last titled in North Carolina in 2002. This was to someone in the same family, so I'll let them take it from there. Thanks for all the comments!!!!!
