Is it possible or practical to change the face of a gauge that is identical except for the color?

I have a NOS oil pressure gauge and need it to fit the grey special deluxe/ It is brown as in the master deluxe. I need it to be light grey as in the special deluxe. The face is the part behind the needle.

Would some Gorilla hold the transferred face in place or is something else better.

Has anyone ever made such a transfer and if so, what ?id you do to succeed?

Thanks.

Charlie computer

BTW: This is for a 41 but may have applications to other gauges where there are different colors involved.

I have changed gauge faces using short lengths of electronics solder as a substitute for the original small diameter rivets. The solder is easy to peen on both the front of the face and the back of the gauge and can be made to look very close to original. Usually the rivet heads don't show through the glass window in the gauge cluster anyway. Mike
