So far I have done this and it still needs the battery charger on it to crank??? Turns slow and quits. What do you suggest????
Done:
1. New battery
2. Professionally Rebuilt starter
3. Correct large cables, not new, but look ok.
4. Not new starter switch, but working.
5. New ignition switch

Fuel tank problem solved, with all ya'lls help. Glued some holes(epoxy), Red Coated outside of inner tank, sprayed exterior with a bedliner
material.

I suggest checking and cleaning your ground connections. Especially to the chassis. Corrosion happens.

I put a star lock washer under the ground cable so it digs in and makes a good electrical connection.

Hope this helps. Dean

When attempting to start the '27 is the distributor advance on the steering wheel in the "retard" position" as it should be?

\Are you attempting to start the vehicle with the Clutch dis-engaged (pedal to the floor). If so, you need to place the transmission in neutral and the clutch engaged (no foot on the clutch pedal). This will allow an increase in starting RPM's. This starting procedure is outlined in the Owners Manual, bottom of page 10.

Yes, the retard lever is all the way down. I am starting in neutral, no foot on the clutch. TY for your reply....
