My ”˜41 is having a valve job. Head is back from machine shop, and we are preparing for reassembly. But we noticed a part is missing. There should be 3 metal rings that go between the head and exhaust manifold, and we only have 2. How important are these rings? Can we leave one out? Thanks, Sid

They are important for correct manifold alignment. They are available from thr Filling Station.

I have extras, but can not compete with The Filling Station
Intake Manifold Sleeves. I would charge that for 1 but include shipping.

Good luck, MIke

P.S. Read these old posts before starting assembling your manifolds. 38 Manifold Spacers

Thanks guys. I appreciate your help. I didn’t even know what to call them. I need to order something else from filling station too, so I’ll order in the morning.

Sid,

Check group 3.281 par No. 837273 in your parts book. They are called sleeves.

Owing to the fact that they are for the intake manifold, I expect they do more than merely align the manifold as indicated above.

Best,
