I am doing a restoration on a 1954 Chevy 210 DelRay. The forum has been a big help and I'm back. We put in a new wiring harness but we don't have turn signals or brake lights. The rear and parking lights light but that is all. We have been back over the wiring trying to verify that it is correct and best that we can tell it is. Replaced the flasher with a NAPA 550 flasher. I'm running 12 volt. Any ideas where we can look? We are stumped.

Thanks again for all the help we have received on this project. We are almost there.

You're saying your tail lights work but the brake lights don't? If that's the case start at the bulb socket and work your way forward. Have someone step on the brake pedal and hold it while you check the contact in the socket with a multi-meter. If you have power it's a bad bulb. If no power work your way up the wire to the next connection and check for power, then the next until you get power. That will tell you where the issue is. Electrical problems can be a bear. You can just throw parts at it or do the grunt work and trace it down. Good luck.

Do you have voltage from them brake light switch going into the turn signal switch, if so is it coming out of the switch? If you have voltage going in but not out you may have a bad switch.

I agree with Tiny and Denny. You need to start tracing voltage to see what is really going to the brake light switch and the turn signals.

I am assuming that you have confirmed that you have good dual filament 12 volt bulbs in the taillight housings. Same for the fronts. Those also need to be dual filament bulbs.
