Hi there!!..I have an uncle who's trying to sell me a 63 Chevy pickup w/327,,,Did they have them in those years,,what are they worth???(the 327's)  :confused:

62 chevy full size pass cars nd 62 corvettes got the first 327's and am pretty sure the 327 was a truck option. if you'll post the suffix stamped on the engine pad just foreward of pass side head , can look it up and see whats what.as far as value, anywhere from ZIP to 20K depending on condition. good luck, mike

My info indicates that 1966 was the first year for in 327 in a 1/2 thru 1 ton truck.

As per 1963 truck shop manual-283 was used in the smaller trucks and painted gray.327 was available in 6000 series 2 ton trucks and painted green.Either engine used a 2 barrel carburetor.Originally they had a decal on the valve covers with either 283 or 327 listed.

Mike and Chevgene:the 63 chev truck i seen was either a 1/2 ton or a 3/4 ton,,,Now i know that the truck isn't original,,,,I'm going to pass it up,,THANX for your help guys!!!!
