I have a 1931 Chevy in-line 6 cylinder, with the 1928 transmission. I got it for next to nothing , i need some help. I’ve been told it’s worth something, but only if it isn’t blown up? Someone help

That's interesting as I believe a 1931 bell housing has a completely different bolt pattern for mounting the transmission. Different case for the 31? If you got it for next to nothing then anything you get is good but don't expect any large amount without giving many details and photos,

The OP has this listed on Craigslist Cincinnati and Indianapolis with pictures. Talked to him about it. It was his uncle's. Four speed truck transmission. Engine is 1931 per his passing on of the casting date E 16 1. The engine is open (missing distributor and starter) and neither are installed in a vehicle. Laying on the ground. Uses a different town on Craigslist (Milan). See Craigslist posting:

I have sold several 1931 engines in that condition for $300 each.
