Pulled the carb again because of the leak from the vent hole on carb.
The float and needle were laying in the bottom of the brass bowl.
Put it back on. Dropped a line from the cleaned fuel pump and ran 2 qts. of fuel through pump ( the pump pulled it from of a temporary tank.
I checked my tank and it appears to be new, inside, clean and bright metal, previous owner may have put on new tank.
I am going to flush the tank . I have an inline in the line to catch trash, hope none there.
Next move .....DRIVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every step forward is worth celebrating!! yay

When you put the inline filter in the fuel line, I suggest that you plumb in a tee with a small valve attached. Then, if you need to prime your vacuum tank, you have easy access to a fuel supply. No need to carry around a small, red plastic gas can.

Also, you use a small plastic Coke bottle to catch the gas from the outlet mentioned in the previous paragraph and pour the gas into the top of the vacuum tank.

Attached are a couple of pics of my setup under Justin, my '28 Canopy Express.

Cheers, Dean

I would check the length of the pin that holds the float. If it is too short one end of the float will drop off and the carburetor will flood.
