Is the little hole on the side of the carb ( C-RAJX-O), just above the brass bowl supposed to leak gas if the bowl is too full......mine seems to do that....did not notice till the second carb cleaning...I ran a wire through it then when installed...it dripped when bowl was over full????????????????????????????????

Normally that indicates the float is either not set correct or has an obstruction in the inlet line. Setting the float is to set according to the instructions or to clear any objects from the line.

If the hole is plugged the needle/seat will not seal properly and too much gas will enter the carburetor bowl. If the hole is open and gas comes out then you have a problem described by Ray. Leaking float, needle not seating are most common. Trash in the gas that keeps needle from seating is common particularly when the gas tank has not been scrupulously cleaned.

Ty...I appreciate you reply...I am not using the tank. I am hand pouring gas into a funnel that attaches to the inlet. It did not leak until the second breakdown of the carb. The gas is clean. Do you think I left some trash in the needle seat??
The hole is not near the needle hole it looks like a vent hole through the cast of the carb??

One thing I forgot to mention is the possibility of a sunken float. You can place the float in some hot water and watch for any bubbles.

The fuel system is very touchy. It is best to test it with everything connected as intended. Then you can isolate which component is the guilty one.
