I am in the final stages of completing the motor rebuild for a 33 Chev. Does anyone out there have a diagram or written description of how the choke and throttle levers attach to the carb? Also, how does the accelerator pedal assembly attach to the carb? Really need the help because I have some pieces that may be shop engineered.

If you don't get an answer soon I will go take a picture of my 33 which is in storage.

Hi Charles,

Finally retrieved my camera from a customer’s rig. By the time I got to the storage area it was extremely warm inside the closed trailer. Some quick shots and out of there.

Not sure what your specific problem was, so I took a shot of the top and also under the manifolds. The air cleaner in one of the pictures is where I took it off the carburetor and just set it down.

If these pictures don’t answer your question, let me know.

Thanks Ray, The main questions I had were the hookup for the floor accelerator pedal which I figured out from your picture of the bell crank, the spring, which I figured out from your picture, and the throttle pull cable from the dash. Does this connect to the throttle lever on the carb that connects to the pull rod to the bell crank??

Ray, hopefully one last question, on the passengers side away from the carb, I have a wire that looks like it is attached to the amp guage. It comes out under the firewall just above the starter but I don' know where it connects. ANy ideas???? Thanks for all your help. My next project is a 26 touring car that has the wrong carb. Any ideas what carb goes one a 26? The one on my 28 is different...

Hi Charles,

Notice that the throttle cable goes down behind the manifold and connects to the linkage on the side of the block. (See picture above).

The wire you are tracing is the HOT wire from the starter connection to the amp meter. It should have a large round eye on the end to fit the starter bolt and the wire should be red.

The 1926 4-cylinder used the Carter RXO.

Once again you are a life saver. That's where I thought the amp wire went but just wanted to be sure...Charles
