My apologies to Mike for not being able to be an astute searcher,

Anyway, a year or so back someone posted the wood and dimensions of making a simple stand for holding a 216 engine,

It was made out of four by fours (4 x4s) and with rollers installed so it could scooted around,

I need that post link so I can make a couple or three,

Thanks in advance,

Charlie computer

BTW: Seems like it was a "Tony" or "Mike" that was the poster. Can't remember.

Bears Fan315 did a post on an engine stand for his 29 194. I believe that would suffice for a 216 also. Do a search for "Engine Stand" and display name "BearsFan315".

Thanks moo6840 and Dean,

Dean,

That is the one I remembered.

I can't build a rabbit box but I'm going to tackle trying to make some of those. Wish me luck. Agrin

Best to both of you,

My buddy built two of those. One for me and one for him. He added a plywood panel to the bottom so it isn't open and provided some more rigidity to the stand.

I followed the directions and made one years ago. I agree, works great. Only change I would have made, make the stands about 1 inch taller. Don't know why, but my oil pan rested on the cross bar, just had to scoot engine forward a bit.

from removal to rebuild, worked great, and i used mine on a set of HF Dollies !!

now it sits in the corner as a parts stand, until i need it again, or the wood for something else :)
