I wish I had taken more pictures of my 29 coupe. I am putting the fenders on, and wonder if these go there. They are 3/16" thick 1" wide with a hole for 3/8" bolt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those are the backing plates for the bumper clamps. You place the clamps on the front between the two bars and those go on the back.

All the Best, Chip

looks like these parts here, back plates for the medallions on the rear bumpers

i put the raised section towards the medallions, this kept the bracket from collapsing against the back of medallions.

granted i have taken THOUSANDS of pictures of my 1929 through the process, there are many times i am doing something and then realize that i did NOT take any pictures, and usually at that point I am NOT redoing or undoing what i did :) I also make a LOT of sketches and take LOT of notes. have a small file folder with all my notes and info, sorted by categories :)

I have 47 videotapes on my 16 year journey of restoring my 41. All of it is narrated even with made up names of parts when I didn't know/remember their names. I backed up the tapes onto DVDs and supplemented them with pictures, and I still am confused at times with problems that come up in reassembly or disassembly. For me the thought process has been just as important, and time consuming, as all the physical work, and just as rewarding.

I heard Captain Scott Kelly, the astronaut, speak a couple of days ago and he stressed it is not where you start but rather where you finish that is important, a lesson he learned from his mother. I highly, recommend hearing him speak. Extremely intelligent, funny, articulate, a national treasure.

Good luck, Mike
