Those of you with cars that originally came with the tube style shocks, what do you do to maintain authenticity for judging? Do you just use modern replacement shocks and then paint or sticker them to match what the original shock would have looked like?
I've seen NOS shocks that will fit my car, but being decades old would need to be rebuilt by a specialty company, so costly and a hassle, when I can simply order new ones online that will look 90% the same as original but just wrong colour which is easy enough to fix...

From what I have seen in years of judging the correct color only has passed. The exception would be 1952 and up models that had the spiral shocks.
