Hi
Thanks for welcoming me to the forum.
My name is Steve and I live in France
I am awaiting my retirement present to arrive from LA a 1954 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery truck.
I will be having my own problems bringing it into France so I may need a bit of help with the procedure. I may be looking to get some info on 1954 engine numbers, mine is a later one fitted. I also will need photos of original interiors.
Regards
Steve

Welcome, Bienvenue!,
Most of us don't know about importing vehicles into France. There are a few that frequent Chat that may. Could take a while until they see a post and respond. There is a Vintage Chevrolet Club of America Region in France/Switzerland. https://vcca.site-ym.com/page/Regions Click on the underlined section to open it up. You can also sign up to be a VCCA member on another page on that site. I encourage you to contact Region members as they will better understand your situation. Also become a member. With electronic subscription to the monthly magazine "Generator & Distributor" it is only $ 25.

Steve,

I recommend you go to France's equilivant of the U.S.A.'s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and get the requirements for importing a car.

You may save some trouble by gathering all the information you will thus need and presenting it at the proper time.

Rest assured that the process will be much easier than registering an out of state car into North Carolina. greenman dance

Good luck with the process. If it proves too murky then hire an attorney who is versed in such matters. That will cost you but the retention of sanity will be worth it.

Best,

Charlie computer

By The Way (BTW):: Chipper has given you some excellent information. Others in the club there will surely be of help.

BTW2: Oh, yea, Welcome to the club and the forum. Viva La France! france

BTW3: The only French I know, for sure, is "Mow de Lawn." Agrin
