I bought a '57 Bel Air a few months ago. It has a non-original rear end in it. I need to know the gear ratio so I can fix the speedo gear. The casting numbers on the gear case are: B287 3725899 and the stampings are: BB 3 08.

Can somebody please decode this for me?

Happy Motoring, Bill

BB is a 3.36 ratio from a 1957 Power Glide or Turboglide.

Okay, Gene. I appreciate the help. It's got a TH350 in it now so I can calculate the speedo gear using 3.36 and my tire size. Thanks very much!
