I sent the Chevrolet emblems from my1934 Master spare tire covers to S & H Chrome Plating in Madison, Tennessee to see if they can replate them without removing the original blue vitreous enamel, and they did...for $10.00 each.
Jaw33, I carefully drilled the rolled-over portion on the back of the emblem until it was flush with the tire cover metal. I soldered a copper wire into the hallow center of the protrusion on the back of the emblem for the plater to attach his wire. When I received it back from the plater, I melted the solder and removed the wire. I plan to reattach the emblem with E6000 adhesive.
