I'm working on a 1933 Chevrolet master. I'm told the engine is a CB. Iv got the radiator and grilll removed. There appears to x tip screws on the crankshaft pulley but they are not deep enough to get a screw driver onto them. There is also two threaded holes that maybe a puller goes to. What secures the pulley to the crankshaft so I can remove it? Is the harmonic balanicer and pulley all one piece? Thank you

The pulley is part of the balancer and do not try to remove.
Yes, use a puller to remove the balancer.

Gene, I don't see a nut inside the pulley, Is it pressed on or is there a fastener that needs to be removed first? Also, Can I use a modern puller or should I try to find a period correct one? If its pressed on without a nut how do I put it back on? Thank you

There isno nut. A regular puller works fine

A regular gear puller that has the jaws to the outside may work but more likely will pull a section out of the belt "V". Use a plate type that has bolts that screw into the 2 threaded holes and pushes through the continuation of the crank handle hole.
When refitting tighten the plate on (make sure they dont go too far through) and use it to drive the harmonic ballancer with a hammer, probably not the correct way but it works.

When I put the damper/pulley back on my 32 I put bolts in the threaded holes and a wood block against the hub and then drove it on with a 3 pound hammer. You will need a good hard wood block.

I tried an old steering wheel puller and it just laughed at it, I ordered the flat plate puller. I have a feeling its never been off. Lucky me!
