The shaft of the trunk handle of my '41 has a number (441) inscribed on it. By any chance is that a number that will tell a locksmith how to cut a key for that handle?

NO The number will have four digets and begin with an 8 or9.

You're right! It's 8441, the 8 was kind of inconspicuous. Do you suppose a locksmith in 2019 will know what to do with that? On another subject, where, exactly, is the horn relay supposed to be located on the front of the firewall?

That series of key numbers were used from 1935-1966 FOR ALL GM CARS so there are still a million cars out there using those keys.
