No! The only Chevrolet "stone guard" was used in the 1931 model year. 1932 was the first year for a "radiator grille" to be used as part of the radiator shell so a "stone guard" was not needed. laugh laugh laugh

What kind of stone guard was used on 31's? I have a chrome "wire" mesh thing, that has the outline of the radiator emblem on it.

It was a heavy wire mesh screen that was chrome plated and attached to the outside of the radiator shell. There was a metal plate on the stone guard at the top for the attachment of the Chevrolet emblem. laugh laugh laugh

Only on the deluxe models as standard equipment as I remember. However, the stoneguard was an accessory for other models so it could be installed by the dealer when purchased by the customer. laugh laugh laugh

The stone guard was not used on trucks. As JYD wrote it was an accessory so could have been dealer installed. It is not likely as the radiator shell on all '31 trucks was painted black and the chrome stone guard would look out of place.

The exception could have been the Sedan Delivery as it was more of a car than a truck.

Where can I get a good grille, not shell, for a 1932 five window coupe? Thanks.
